How the process works

Most of the information you will need to know about the application process, has been organised into a set of Frequently Asked Questions.

But here's a very quick quide to the process:

  1. Register for a Matched Christmas Dinner

From early October, you can complete the simple online application form; you'll need to provide proof of your circumstances and the size of the family.

  2. Verify your application

We will send you a verification link by email or text code, so we know you are a real person and not an automated bot!
  3. We'll review your application

When we have verified you, we will look at your uploaded documents, to make sure you qualify. This may take a week or two, so please don't worry if you don't hear from us immediately.
  4. Donor registrations open

When we open up the donation pages, people will register to donate matched Christmas Dinners.
  5. Donor matching

The donor will be shown a map of people waiting to receive a matched Christmas Dinner. Don't worry, these won't include any personal information, but will allow the donor to see people within their travelling distance, and family size. They can select which one best suits them.
  6. When you're matched

We'll send you a text message or email letting you know you have been matched, and will let you know their first name and mobile number, so you can expect a call from them. Remember, we'll pass on your firstname and contact details to them, so they can get in touch.
  7. Receive your Matched Christmas Dinner

If everything goes to plan, you will arrange a suitable date to receive your Matched Christmas Dinner, close to Christmas, and the donor will deliver it directly to you at that time.

Please also take a look at our Safeguarding Guidelines which are there to protect you and any potential donor.
